Authors reply: 'Response to: 'Psychosocial job stressors and suicidality: a meta-analysis and systematic review by Milneret al

We thank Professor Choi for his response to our paper ‘Psychosocial job stressors and suicidality: a meta-analysis and systematic review’.1

In his letter,2 Choi has pointed out a small problem, in that the results provided by Ostry et al3 should actually be in the opposite direction. We appreciate him noting this problem regarding job demands. As underlined by Choi, these results further highlight the mixed findings regarding the relationship between job demands and suicide-related outcomes. We agree that these mixed findings may be resolved by more longitudinal research in the area, and it is pleasing to read that Choi has recently conducted such a longitudinal study. These results appear to replicate our cross-sectional findings regarding job demands and suicide ideation.
